Sales Director - East Coast (#256-MH242)

The Sales Director is responsible for building and maintaining digital ad sales revenue against a target account list. Expectations are that the sales leader will strive to exceed targets whenever possible through creative consultative selling. He/she is to work with existing and potential clients to determine their specific business objectives and formulate an ad sales solution. The best candidates will have a natural tendency or gravity towards cross team/function collaboration and partnership.

The ideal candidate will be a proven and accomplished sales professional with strong client relationships and industry partnerships that lead to positive results in revenue. He/she should have a strong command of verbal communication, be a deal maker, creative and consultative seller and have a proven track record of success in online ad sales. Strategic contacts on both the client and agency side are a must. Traveling to attend industry trade shows and local events to meet with clients and develop contacts is a requirement.

The successful candidate will also exhibit the competence to take charge and work diligently to achieve results, despite obstacles. He/she will set and own territory sales agendas including: prioritizing and organizing sales calls for maximum dollars.  He/she will also set agenda for and facilitate weekly territory sales meetings and proactively communicate account and sales information to sales management and global sales teams.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Attain established revenue goals through innovative and strategic selling
  • Develop account strategies for long term development and revenue growth in partnership with global sales leads
  • Secure strategic level relationships with senior client contacts within the account list or territory region
  • Bring innovative ideas to the table pertaining to how to package and sell custom integrated packages
  • Frequent and regular account status updates through written call reports and verbal communication
  • Work within a global organization to manage deal development and create smart client solutions
  • Accurate and timely communication to manager of all relevant information regarding revenue and or advertiser relationship
  • Monitor the progress of sold advertising deals to ensure delivery and client satisfaction
  • Stay apprised of developments in the digital advertising marketplace, including new ad units, technologies and competitive developments
  • Continually educate peers in the organization in the sales and marketing groups on the latest developments in all digital, social, gaming and virtual world properties to ensure we are a leading team in the industry
  • Conduct regular analysis of territory including accurate revenue forecasts
  • Complete regular call reports to update sales management on account activity


  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 6+ years experience in sales with 4 + in digital
  • Excellent verbal and written communicator with client presentation experience
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities and work with various constituents
  • Excellent presence in support of client visibility
  • Must be team oriented



  • Work successfully in an emerging company, entrepreneurial environment; must be an independent worker and self-starter
  • Hit or exceed monthly/quarterly sales targets
  • Perform other job related duties such as day-to-day management of accounts, entertaining clients, prospecting for new business, etc.

New Business

  • Leverage your existing network of agency and client contacts to secure advertising revenues inbound via RFP requests and outbound via premium sponsorship platforms
  • Build new advertising verticals for the website (key categories include CPG, Health & Beauty, Fashion/Retail, Entertainment, Toys and Gaming)
  • Generate direct sales from cold calling, follow up calling and face-to-face meetings
  • Develop high-level relationships to serve as a trusted consultant with major customers to optimize their advertising needs
  • Proactively prospect new business by conducting at minimum 80 cold calls a month (4 calls per day)


  • Generate presentations, custom ideas, advertising and sponsorship programs in cooperation with each internal stakeholder of the RFP process

Account Management

  • Own an agency or direct to client sale from start to finish including working with Production and Ad Ops to create sales package ideas, crafting attractive responses to RFP’s and seeing campaigns through completion
  • Work collaboratively with global sales team and marketing team on concept to close on digital advertising and sponsorships
  • Manage the creative asset collection, sales pipeline, and support infrastructure for premium digital campaigns
  • Manage the success metrics and campaign reporting for ad campaigns in your territory
  • Convey client feedback to the management team
  • Prepare summary activity reports detailing account contacts

Strategy & Research

  • Ideate and develop sales and value proposition for premium advertising within Stardoll digital products
  • Generate market information, especially on the opportunity for potential advertisers
  • Generate business plans to define your selling strategies and tactics

Budget Forecasting

  • Provide accurate monthly/quarterly/annual forecasts based on evaluation of the target market, with specific goals by account where needed product, competitive and market information via Salesforce.com database
